Just to say that this week I have curated five days of music at the vortex which I’m really looking forward to and kept all the days free so I can listen to these amazing and inspiring musicians

It starts on Wednesday 5 Oct with two of my favourite drummers in the whole world,sukhvinder Singh namdhari who is an incredible jhori player,in case you don’t know what that is,is like a bassy version of tabla

Also playing is the amazing and beautiful drummer Mark sanders,I seen him play many times and every experience has been inspiring to me

On the 6th me and kit downes are playing our first gig in London with some new music we have both written and been playing in our houses for the last six months

Also on 6th is the very moving and inspiring composer and guitarist jonny Phillips playing in duo with the equally moving Dorian ford on piano

On the 7th is one of my favourite lyricists jehst playing with his new live band and a young mc from tottenham called young fresh,I discovered him on YouTube and was really taken by his positive message and energy

On the 8th is mikill pane,a very original,funny,clever mc from east London who I also been producing and Ben clemo’s melodic and euphoric indie band called mademoiselle mademoiselle who also sings with mikill pane

For the last night on 9th is one of my favourite piano players Zoe Rahman playing with her trio which also includes one of my favourite drummers and teacher gene calderazzo,am constantly blown away by the way Zoe’s music and piano playing is at the same time so complex and melodic and natural sounding

Also on the last night is the gifted and beautiful singer ranjana ghatak,from the first time I heard her on YouTube felt like her voice went straight to my heart,she is playing with some other of my favourite musicians nick ramm,ruth goller and asaf sirkis

just a note to say that we have decided to call the band we doing with jyager….jyager bear so to hopefully be clearer about what music we playing,we still going to be making polar bear music too and hopefully recording albums with both bands in the next year which im looking forward to
also,in jyager bear, the really unique and inspiring musician shabaka hutchings will now be playing saxophone in this band with pete
